Did you know that over 170 languages are spoken in Leeds?

From 13 to 17 November, we’re inviting you to take part in celebrating languages and culture in Leeds. In partnership with national and international language providers, we’re planning a range of activities for adults, children and young people to get involved in.

This includes a mass participation singalong, and workshops delivered in schools, in-person and online.

Mother Tongue Other Tongue Anthology

We're thrilled to present Mother Tongue Other Tongue, a multilingual poetry anthology by young people aged 8-18.

It's split into two sections, Mother Tongue and Other Tongue. The first half contains poems and songs in a variety of heritage languages with a commentary in English. The second half features original poems by students written in a language they are learning.
